Our Connections

Our teams complete 50% of spring training on UNCC’s campus in North Charlotte during the months of January and February inside Charlotte’s indoor training facility.  Skills camps will be coordinated with Charlotte’s  coaching staff and facilitated by UNCC players and the head coaches at Charlotte.  Head Coach Ashley Chastain was a top pitcher at South Carolina, and during her time at Ole Miss, she was named 2019 Softball America Pitching Coach of the Year. Her assistant coaches are Katie Browder (former assistant hitting and infield coach from Ole Miss and former player at Georgia), Jody Davidson, and CJ Leighton. Through these clinics, we are excited to expose the girls to advanced skills and create mentoring relationships. These relationships will be further fostered as UNCC players help intermittently with regular practices throughout the year. In addition, the team frequently makes trips to watch the current Charlotte team play games.
